Virat Kohli-Ajinkya Rahane Achieve Another Feat In Test Cricket

India’s captain Virat Kohli and his deputy Ajinkya Rahane added a 99-run partnership for the fourth wicket on the second day of the pink-ball Test against Bangladesh. This alliance helped the duo in leapfrogging Pakistan’s Inzamam-ul-Haq and Mohammad Yousuf, Sourav Ganguly and Sachin Tendulkar, Mahela Jayawardene and Thilan Samaraweera.
Consequently, Virat Kohli and Ajinkya Rahane have become the second-highest scoring pair for fourth-wicket partnership in the Test fold. Pakistan’s former skipper Inzamam Ul-Haq and Younis Khan have scored most runs for the fourth wicket partnership.

Rahane scored a fine knock of 51 runs whereas Kohli smashed another sublime knock of 136 runs. Both the right-handers batted at the top of their game and helped India in strengthening their grip.
Both Virat Kohli and Ajinkya Rahane have been the pillars of the Indian batting order. Kohli and Rahane have delivered the goods for the team and they are the team’s best batsmen.
On the other hand, Indian skipper scored his 27th Test century. He now has most International centuries with Ricky Ponting (41) as a captain. This was Kohli’s 20th Test century as a skipper.

Subsequently, Kohli declared the innings on 347-9 after India lead was 241 runs. On the other hand, Bangladesh once again started their innings on a horrendous note. The visitors lost their opener Shadman Islam in the very first over. The southpaw was plumbed in front of the wickets by Ishant Sharma.
The lanky pacer provided one more breakthrough in his second over as Bangladesh skipper Mominul Haque for sent back for a duck. Mohammad Mithun tried to play a pull shot against Umesh Yadav but could only manage a leading edge to Mohammed Shami at short mid-wicket.
Bangladesh ended the second day at 152-6 still trailing India’s first innings score by 89 runs.
